Our Story
The address isn't arbitrary. Eleven Ives Street became our address, and eleven became our identity — a number that feels just right: not too many, not too few, but exactly the kind of specificity that makes a place feel intentional.
We opened Downtown Eleven Café & Bar with a simple conviction: Danbury deserved a downtown gathering place that didn't choose between good coffee and good conversation, between morning routine and evening ritual. So we built one.
Every pour, every pour-over, every shake and stir is done with the kind of care that only comes from treating your neighbors like the regulars they are. Some of our guests have been here since the first brick was set. Others are just discovering what we already knew — that the best part of any day is the people you share it with.

This is the only place in Danbury where I actually want to sit and linger. The coffee is genuinely excellent, and the atmosphere just makes you want to stay.
We brought out-of-town guests here and they couldn't believe how good the cocktails were. The Eleven Old Fashioned is now my go-to order every time.
The transition from coffee shop to bar is seamless. I've worked morning meetings here and evening dinners here — it works both ways.
